With Love on Mothering Sunday

On this special day, we remember the mothers and exceptional women who are no longer with us, but who have had a positive influence in our lives.
Whilst we will always miss them, they are still very much present in our daily lives.
We give thanks for them and for the love they showed us and the world.

My mother was a very caring person who did so much for others in every little way she could. Despite being traumatised by the war when bombs were dropped very near her home while she lived with her parents and my father was away abroad with the army, she did war-work in a very committed way. She married my father when he returned at the end of the war.
