With Love on Mothering Sunday

On this special day, we remember the mothers and exceptional women who are no longer with us, but who have had a positive influence in our lives.
Whilst we will always miss them, they are still very much present in our daily lives.
We give thanks for them and for the love they showed us and the world.

Mum was house collector for many, many years in Handbridge, Chester. I helped her for a few years despite feeling uncomfortable knocking on doors. When I married and moved to Huddersfield I started collecting for Christian Aid in my village. It took ages as it was a great way to catch up with people who you hadn't seen for ages. I remember my dad getting anxious that mum hadn't returned from collecting even though it was dark, but it was because she was chatting with people .
